Kay L. Johannes, Retired Insurance Company Executive has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in Business.

Initially a multimedia artist based in Wisconsin, Ms. Johannes entered the field of insurance with Northwestern Mutual in 1987 and served to the title of senior sales track specialist when she retired in 2012. She has been named a Marquis Industry Expert for her many years of insurance acumen. Though she transitioned into a different industry, Ms. Johannes accrued much business expertise as owner of her own design firm, Johannes, and chaired the visual communications advisory board of the Milwaukee Area Technical College from 1990 to 2005. In her retirement, she continues to serve as a volunteer docent of the John Michael Kohler Arts Center in Sheboygan, Wisconsin.

Born in Milwaukee to James Ben Johannes and Evelyn Johannes, Ms. Johannes studied with the Milwaukee Area Technical College to earn an AAS in visual communications, a field she had been interested in since she was an audio visual technician at Nicolet High School. After earning a BS in instructional technology from the Rochester Institute of Technology in 1977, she became an animator with Pohlman Studios in Milwaukee, as well as a visual designer. From 1979 to 1980, she worked for AV Centrum in Stockholm, Sweden as a multimedia designer. Ms. Johannes returned to Milwaukee as a producer and owner of her namesake firm, and concurrently worked with Photography Unlimited as an audio visual producer. In the ‘70s, Ms. Johannes was a volunteer with the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ozaukee, Wisconsin, and was recognized by American Mensa, Ltd. She joined Northwestern in 1987.

Ms. Johannes is included in the pages of Who’s Who in Finance and Business, Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in the World, and Who’s Who of American Women. She is recognized as a Royal Matron of the Order of Amaranth, Inc., as well as a Worthy High Priestess of the Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem. Ms. Johannes still enjoys computer design, and is an avid motorcycle enthusiast. She has been owner of Wisconsin Off-Road Adventures LLC since 2005, which administers the Motorcycle Safety Foundation DirtBike School as well as street and trail riding classes. Ms. Johannes is featured in the book, “Women in Motorcycling”, by Suzie Hollern, and runs her family business with her husband, former AMA Professional Superbike racer Alexander David Bub, and their son, David A. Bub.
