Sandy Hennum, Executive Director of Village of Hope, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in Social Services.

As executive director of Village of Hope, Ms. Hennum leads a social services organization that provides emergency and temporary shelter for families experiencing homelessness. From day to day, she serves as a resource for the staff and families that come in to her, as well as the community, in fund raisers, and in passing the mission and vision of her company to the staff. Ms. Hennum is dedicated to alleviating homelessness and breaking the cycle, replacing it with collaboration and helping people see their highest potential. She also assists families with planning consultations, homeless advocacy, and speaking engagements as the chief executive officer of Hennum Consulting.

Ms. Hennum entered her profession through volunteer service. She worked in healthcare and had an opportunity to work with people in need, ultimately knowing this is where she was meant to be. She holds a bachelor’s degree in community and patient education, as well as a master’s degree from the University of Phoenix. After 30 years in recreational therapy and volunteer services, she has turned her organization expertise toward organizing families and creating self-directed work teams. Ms. Hennum has supported other local organizations such as Bemidji Leads, Community Resource Connections, Community Education and Getting Ahead in Bemidji.

In the coming years, Ms. Hennum looks forward to taking more people in poverty and training them to get jobs and helping them become an integral part of the community. She would like to be remembered as someone who led with integrity and never gave up. In May of 2017, Ms. Hennum was recognized by the Bemidji Pioneer for her recent recognition by America’s Registry of Outstanding Professionals.
