Molly Oberbillig, Retired Utilities Executive, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in Public Utilities.

After retiring in 1990 from her role as a Conservation Manager at the Mason County Public Utility District No. 1, Ms. Oberbillig has continued to be a prolific civic contributor, named Woman of the Year by the National Association of Professional Women from 2012 to 2013. She is a charter member of the Wellstone Action Leadership Council, a board treasurer of the All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church, a Founding Sponsor of the Martin Luther King Jr. National Memorial, and a charter member of the National Women’s History Museum. Ms. Oberbillig has particularly supported the Thurston Council for Cultural Diversity and Human Rights as the chairman and founder of its Youth Diversity Award since 1992, the same year she became a member of the leadership council of the Southern Poverty Law Center.

Born to William Ferguson Cavenugh and Mary Castleman Cavenugh, she has studied with Reed College in Portland, Oregon, as well as the University of Washington in Seattle and San Jose State University. Ms. Oberbillig married Gary Joel Oberbillig in 1961, and had two children, Andrew Ferguson and Julie Anne. She joined the Mason County Public Utility in 1975, though she has been a civic contributor since 1953, when she joined the Nordiska Folkdance Exhibition team. Notably, Ms. Oberbillig was a founding member of the Progressive Patriots Club, a founding trustee of the Anne Williston Scholarship from 1988 to 2007, and vice chairman of the Shelton, Washington Democratic Central Committee from 1991 to 1992.

Ms. Oberbillig is the recipient of an Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award and a Marquis Who’s Who Humanitarian Award, and was selected for inclusion in the pages of Who’s Who in Finance and Business, Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in the World, and Who’s Who of American Women. She is a member of the American Association of University Women, and has contributed to academia with numerous articles in professional journals. In her spare time, Ms. Oberbillig enjoys gardening.
