Mr. DeBusk has found success at Universal Health, where he spearheads and manages plans to improve performance and reduce waste at the company’s affiliated hospitals. He has held his position since 2007, after transitioning from 16 years as a senior manager of GE Healthcare. Mr. DeBusk is a certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt of GE, and a professional engineer certified in the state of Tennessee.
An alumnus of the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, Mr. DeBusk studied industrial engineering to earn a BS in 1979, and worked as a management systems consultant while earning a MS from the University of Tennessee. He became senior manager of RSM McGladrey from 1985 to 1991, and concurrently a corporate director of cost accounting for the Health Central System of Minneapolis for one year. Mr. DeBusk has also taught with St. Mary’s University of Minnesota.
Mr. DeBusk has been recognized with membership in Alpha Pi Mu, as well as the Institute of Industrial Engineering and the American Society for Quality. In his current role, he oversees operations in corporate pharmacy, surgery, laboratory and radiology. Mr. DeBusk is a Marquis Who’s Who Industry Expert and a recipient of the Marquis Who’s Who Humanitarian Award and an Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award, featured in Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in Science and Engineering, Who’s Who in the East, and Who’s Who in the World.
