Kathleen Gula, Buyer, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in fashion buying and merchandising.

With a keen eye for the arts and an academic-mind, Ms. Gula has seen incredible levels of success throughout her career. One of the highlights of Ms. Gula’s career was guiding a classic institution, John Wanamaker’s, to step outside the box by featuring the “Clara Bellar and the Unsuit” swimsuit – a hit business move that landed her on television. She attributes her success to being supported by a strong family background and having determination, hard work, and drive to achieve her goals.

Ms. Gula prepared for a career in the business side of retail by earning a diploma in business marketing from Georgetown University and a diploma in fashion design and merchandising, summa cum laude, from Marymount University. Throughout her career, she has worked as a buyer for several companies, including Woodward & Lothrop in Washington, DC, and as a buyer and a divisional merchandise manager for Gimbels of Philadelphia and New York. Ms. Gula was additionally a buyer, divisional merchandise manager and general merchandise manager for John Wanamaker’s in Philadelphia, PA. She continued her career as the Vice President of Retailing for The Eagles Eye.

In addition to her work in fashion and merchandising, Ms. Gula is an active community member and is the chairperson of various fundraising events. She is on the Women’s Board of the American Cancer Society, Inc., the Friends of Field Hockey Board for Lafayette College, the Challenge Board of the Don Guanella Village, the Barefoot Beach Social Committee Board, and the Pan Florida Challenge Development Board. She has also been involved with Breastcancer.org and the Union League of Philadelphia. In recognition of her community service and of her career, she received the Development Appreciation Award from the Pan Florida Challenge in 2017 and a Don Guanella Challenger Award. Looking toward the future, Ms. Gula endeavors to spend her time traveling, spending time with her family and finding new causes to support.
