Driven by a passion for healthcare, Ms. Nee has been providing top of the line services in administration since establishing her career in 1961. She began her career as a social worker for the social service department for the New York Neurological Institute at New York Presbyterian Hospital. After five years, she became a medical social worker for the Tuberculosis Center at the Medical College of Virginia, followed by clinical social worker for the social work department at the National Institutes of Health. Ms. Nee has also served the National Institutes of Neurological Disorders and Stroke in a variety of prominent roles, including as a clinical genetics research associate and a social science analyst.
A leading voice in her industry, Ms. Nee has been actively involved in numerous professional organizations. She was chair of the ethics and grievances committee and president of the Metropolitan Washington chapter of the National Association of Social Workers, and she was an editor of the Journal of Social Work of Metropolitan Washington, a columnist for The Bulletin, and a contributor to articles of professional journals. Further, Ms. Nee was a scientific board member of the Familial Alzheimer’s Disease Research Foundation, president of the Friends Clinical Center, and the president of the Metropolitan DC chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.
Before establishing herself in the healthcare field, Ms. Nee prepared for her career by investing in her education. She earned a Bachelor of Arts from Russell Sage College in 1961 and a Master of Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1968. In recognition of her professional excellence, she was honored in Who’s Who of American Women. As she looks to the future, Ms. Nee intends to continue working in her field while taking on new opportunities as they come about.
