A celebrated figure in his fields of expertise, Mr. Filstrup has accrued 45 years of professional experience, spending 32 of those years as president of The Consultants Limited in Tulsa, OK, since 1986. Prior to this appointment, Mr. Filstrup served as vice president and general manager of Polyvoltac, Inc., president and chief executive officer of EPM Industries, Inc., manager of strategic planning of MAPCO, Inc., executive administrator with Williams Companies, and manager of business and market development of Agrico Chemical Company. He began his career as a commercial development supervisor with the Monsanto Company in the early 1970s.

Earning a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering in 1965 and Master of Business Administration in 1967 from Northwestern University, Mr. Filstrup has been a national speaker in marketing and planning with Chemical and Metals Industries, part of the Advisory Council of Marketing and National Alumni Board with Tulsa University, and chair of governance and nominating committee with several public firms.

Alongside his professional endeavors, Mr. Filstrup has participated in a number of civic engagements, serving as a national board member of VOICExperience since 2005, a board member of the Tulsa Opera since 1993, member of the executive committee of the Junior Achievement of Oklahoma since 1986, member of the National Alumni Admissions Council of Northwestern University since 1980, and board member of the Junior Achievement of Oklahoma since 1976. He is a former member of OPERA America, Inc., the Boston Avenue United Methodist Church, Junior Achievement USA, the Tulsa Library Trust, the Tulsa Professional Basketball Team, and the Tulsa Metropolitan Area Transportation Planning Commission.

As a leading expert in the field, Mr. Filstrup has maintained affiliation with several professional organizations. He has been a member of Strategic and Competitive Intelligence Professionals since 1998, the Rotary Club of Tulsa since 1985, and the National Association of Business Economists since 1977. He is a former member of The Summit, Saint Francis Health Zone, the International Association for Financial Planning, and the Oklahoma Private Investment Association.

A contributor of articles to professional journals, Mr. Filstrup has been awarded several accolades throughout his career. The recipient of the Innovation Achievement Award in 2017, he was also presented with the Pillar of the Tulsa Community Award by the Rotary Club of Tulsa in 2013. In addition, he was the recipient of the Global Gold Leadership Award from Junior Achievement USA in 2005, the Schaffner Distinguished Alumni Award from the Kellogg School of Management of Northwestern University in 2002, and the Award for Entrepreneur of the Year in the State of Oklahoma from the U.S. Congress in 2001.

The son of Alvin W. and Elaine H. Filstrup, Mr. Filstrup has been married to Margaret McGinnis since 1967. He has been inducted into several Who’s Who publications, including numerous editions of Who’s Who in Finance and Industry, Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in the South and Southwest, Who’s Who in the World, and Who’s Who of Emerging Leaders in America.
