Cindy Bontrager, Owner and President at Superior Seats Inc., has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in entrepreneurship.
A goal-oriented people person with excellent organizational skills and innate creativity, Ms. Bontrager is the ideal entrepreneur. She started her company, Superior Seats Inc., in 2001, and although she’s hit some obstacles, she’s very proud to have kept moving forward over the past 17 years. Her biggest challenge was dealing with the glass ceiling in a male-dominated industry, but her strong product coupled with her hardworking and meticulous nature propelled her to success. Ms. Bontrager never stops learning, and is constantly looking for ways to improve. She also credits her achievements to caring for her customers and staff, and because she treats the people she interacts with like family.
The biggest asset Ms. Bontrager had when preparing for her entrepreneurial endeavor was hands-on experience. She previously worked for a company that made custom seats and she enjoyed the job. When the company went out of business, Ms. Bontrager thought she could make a great product and build a business, so she set out to do exactly that, and it only took 19 days to get up and running. She supplemented her background in the field with coursework at Ivy Tech Community College.
Looking to the future, Ms. Bontrager would like to continue advancing on her path, keeping the same quality products while growing in size. One of the ways she intends to achieve her goal is to change the way she obtains products. Many of her suppliers rely on imported materials that take longer to get and can get caught up in red tape. Previously, all of the materials came from local sources, and she would like to see that again. She hopes to be remembered for doing things the right way and for being fair, honest, and respectable.
When Ms. Bontrager isn’t working, she enjoys traveling in her recreational vehicle, fishing, boating, bowling, and coloring. She also supports the charitable missions of the Wounded Warrior Project, Inc., and the Special Olympics.
