Alan Jonas, Financial Planner, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in financial services.
Mr. Jonas had a knack for finances from an early age, as he began working the stock market as a hobby in high school. With encouragement, he entered the industry after being told it would make for a great career. Throughout his career, he has worked for a variety of companies but has consistently provided his financial services as an independent financial planner since 1981. From 2007 to 2008, he was a registered representative for Walnut St. Securities and he held similar positions with Contemporary Financial Solutions from 2003 to 2006, Royal Alliance Associates Inc. from 1995 to 2003, and the Financial Network Investment Corp. from 1990 to 1995. From 1990 to 1995, Mr. Jonas was also the director of the Paul Revere Insurance Group. In the 1980s, he held various executive positions with The Financial Store Inc., the Financial Planners Equity Corp., and Financial Associates Inc. Early in his career, he was an investment specialist with Sutro & Co.
Passionate about the financial services field, Mr. Jonas has also been interested in the arts. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in dramatic art from Brooklyn College in 1957, and received a Master of Arts in the field from New York University in 1958. His success in the financial field relies heavily on his mentality that the client always comes and on his perseverance and positive attitude. On one occasion, Mr. Jonas met with the president of Wells Fargo Bank and pitched an idea to have stockbroker work at desks in branches to aid clients with mortgages and loans. What ensued was the creation of The Financial Store, which worked in seven banks and credit unions across California and Texas.
Mr. Jonas has also provided his services and expertise as a reporter and writer for NBC News and has appeared as a guest on numerous television programs. He authored a book concerning Facebook. On a civic level, he had previously served as the president of the Kiwanis Club of Oakland, as Chair of the Membership Committee of the Oakland Museum Association and President of Meals for Millions Foundation. Throughout his career, he maintained affiliation with a variety of organizations that aided in professional development, including the State Bar of California and the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance.
