An acclaimed figure in his field, Mr. Hill has accrued more than 35 years of professional excellence in his areas of expertise. The founder and CEO/president of Professional Financial Strategies, Inc., since 1993, he offers personalized financial planning and wealth management for professionals, executives, and families of business owners across the nation. Professional Financial offers an integrated approach to financial planning, including investment management, mitigating taxes and protecting assets. Prior to starting his firm, Mr. Hill served as principal of Hill Financial Advisors from 1984 to 1993.
Alongside his professional endeavors, Mr. Hill has served as an adjunct faculty member in the College for Financial Planning at St. John Fisher College and teaches continuing education to CPAs. He has been a consultant and financial supporter with The Partnership Foundation since 2012, and he was a former chapter president of The Gideons International.
To prepare for his illustrious career, Mr. Hill sought a formal education, earning a Bachelor of Arts in English language and literature, with distinction, from the University of Rochester in 1974. He went on to complete a Master of Science in financial services from American College in 1988, as well as a Master of Business Administration in finance and management from the prestigious William E. Simon Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of Rochester in 1989. He completed his professional education with a Master of Science in financial planning from the University of Phoenix in 1997.
A longstanding member of the Financial Planning Association and the National Society of Accountants, Mr. Hill has been licensed as Certified Financial PlannerTM since 1983, a Chartered Financial Consultant since 1983, and an Accredited Tax Advisor since 1998. In an effort to share his knowledge with his professional community, he publishes and edits “Planning Perspectives,” a quarterly newsletter on personal financial planning and wealth management matters, and is on the editorial panel for WealthManagement.com. In addition, he and his firm have been written about in such publications as Money, Fortune, and Forbes. Mr. Hill has been written about in Wall Street Journal’s Market Watch, Bloomberg Business, and the New York Business Journal.
In addition to his roles as an editor and spokesperson, Mr. Hill served as coauthor of “Retire Abundantly,” a book showing the need for “middle-class millionaires” to move beyond conventional financial and estate planning, and how a successful retirement experience preserves, protects and passing on wealth for their families and communities. He has been interviewed by businessman James Malinchak, and Reuters honored him as one of the nation’s 500 top advisors in 2007. In recognition of his accomplishments, Mr. Hill and his firm have been ranked multiple times as a Top Wealth Manager in “Wealth Manager.” In addition, he was presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award in 2017.
