Raymond C. Peck Sr., President, Behavior Research Specialist and Consultant at R.C. Peck & Associates, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the fields of consulting and research.

The president of R.C. Peck & Associates since 2000, Mr. Peck has more than 55 years of professional excellence in his areas of expertise. Prior to forming his own company, he served as senior statistical advisor and senior research scientist with PIRE from 2004 to 2010 and held several positions with the Department of Motor Vehicles in Sacramento, CA, from 1962 to 2000, including chief of research, acting chief of research, research program specialist II, senior research analyst, program manager, and research analyst. In these roles, he directed more than 200 studies on the role human factors play in crash causation and the value of DMV programs in reducing crash rates.

Alongside his professional endeavors, Mr. Peck acted as session co-chair of the Annual Workshops on Human Factors in Transportation with the Human Factor Society in Washington, DC, in 1996, 1990, and 1972. Additionally, he served as chair on the committee on operator regulation with the Transportation Research Board of the National Academy of Sciences from 1976 to 1982 and has been a statistical consultant and lecturer in his field.

In preparation for his illustrious career, Mr. Peck sought a formal education with California State University, Sacramento, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in 1961 and a Master of Arts in psychology in 1968. In addition, he has been a prolific author and coauthor in his industry, publishing several articles with such entities as the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the Ministry of Transportation, the Journal of Safety Research, the Journal of Studies on Alcohol, and the Detroit Institute of Ophthalmology. Furthermore, he has been a contributor of several articles to peer-reviewed journals throughout his career.

A leading expert in his industry, Mr. Peck maintains affiliation with such industry-related organizations as the American Public Health Association, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the American Statistical Association, the Association for the Advancement of Automotive Medicine, the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society, and the Society for Epidemiologic Research. He has been a member emeritus of the TRB Committee of Operator Education and Regulation since 2002.

In recognition of his exceptional achievements, Mr. Peck has accrued several accolades throughout his career. He was the recipient of the Award of Honor and the Award of Merit from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration with the U.S. Department of Transportation in 1983. Additionally, he was presented with the A.R. Lauer Award by the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society in 1981, the Metropolitan Life Certificate of Commendation with the National Safety Council in 1972, and the Metropolitan Life Award of Honor by the National Safety Council in 1970.

The proud father of five children, Mr. Peck has been inducted into several Who’s Who publications, including Who’s Who in Finance and Industry, Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Who’s Who in Science and Engineering, Who’s Who in the West, and Who’s Who in the World. He was notably named a Lifetime Achiever by Marquis Who’s Who in 2017.
