With more than 35 years of professional experience in the field, Ms. Sullivan has always believed in the power of women and felt that nothing should hold her back because she was a woman. After delving into the drug development clinical trial industry, she was confronted by a drug company who suggested that she form an industry regarding performance metrics. Thus, Ms. Sullivan founded Metrics Champion Consortium in 2006, a company which she describes as a “performance metrics think tank for the drug development industry.”
Prior to founding her firm, Ms. Sullivan held a number of roles, including as a consultant and knowledge management manager for Towers Perrin, consultant for Mercer, and research associate and conference planner for Health Effects Institute. Earlier in her career, she served as a science teacher and varsity girl’s rowing coach at Buckingham, Brown & Nichols School, as well as a science teaching fellow and varsity girl’s rowing coach at The Phillips Exeter Academy.
A respected presenter in the field, Ms. Sullivan commenced her career by pursuing a formal education, receiving a Bachelor of Science in biology and environmental science from Trinity College in 1981. She subsequently earned a Master of Business Administration from the Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College in 1989. In addition, she has been a prolific author, contributor articles to several peer-reviewed journals in her areas of expertise and authoring “Chapter 30: How Quality Performance Metrics Enable Successful Change” in Re-Engineering Clinical Trials: Best Practices for Streamlining the Development Process in 2015.
A leading voice in her industry, Ms. Sullivan maintains affiliation with several organizations, including the Methods and Processes Domain Task Force, the Clinical and Translational Science Awards Program, the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences, the National Institutes of Health, and the Drug Information Association. An assistant Scout Master with the Boy Scouts of America, she was an honoree of the Order of the Arrow. In addition, she was deemed a Tuck Scholar at Dartmouth College in 1989.
Attributing her success to having the opportunity to receive a fulfilling education, Ms. Sullivan has always had a passion for solving problems, improving the operations of clinical trial time, and getting drugs to the market faster to better treat patients. Married to Michael H. Sullivan with two children, Andrew and Courtney, Ms. Sullivan looks toward the future and plans to continue playing an executive role with Metrics Champion Consortium.
