Ari H. J. Almqvist, Vice President of Growth and Innovation at Moog, Inc., has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in industrial automation.
Celebrating his 30th year with Moog, Inc., Mr. Almqvist currently serves as a group director and vice president for growth and innovation for the company, positions he has held since 2016. An international automation leader, Moog, Inc., has seen Mr. Almqvist fulfill a number of roles, including group vice president for industrial services, group vice president for innovation and integration, general manager in America, manager of control solutions in Europe, general manager in The Netherlands, business manager in electromechanical systems in Germany, and chair of the Moog system technology advisory panel and technology strategy and innovations management. He commenced his career in the early 1980s as a purchasing engineer in machine automation for Metso Corporation.
To prepare for his celebrated career, Mr. Almqvist pursued a formal education, receiving a Bachelor of Science in automotive engineering from the Helsinki University of Technology in 1982. He followed this accomplishment with a Master of Science in mechanical engineering from Aalto University in 1991. Completing additional coursework at the Helsinki University of Technology in 1993, he returned to the university to earn a Master of Business Administration in 1997.
Attributing his success to his extensive education and ability to create good teams of people, Mr. Almqvist was honored with a military decoration for his work in the Finnish Air Force in 1983. He speaks multiple languages, including English, Finnish, German, Swedish, and Dutch. A former coach with Performance Consultants International, he enjoys bicycling, riding motorcycles, and alpine skiing in his spare time.
