With nearly 40 years of professional experience, Ms. Ward has been the president and chief executive officer of her eponymous writing business since 2012. Prior to founding her own firm, she was an English as a second language teacher in Cairo, Egypt, from 2011 to 2012. Earlier in her career, she was a teacher and instructor with the 6th of October English Institute, as well as a remedial reading teacher at Moundsville Junior High School in West Virginia.
Ms. Ward began her career as a student at Marshall University, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in language arts in 1971, later earning a Master of Education with the university in 1979. A respected voice in her field, she is a member of the International Women’s Leadership Association and the National Association of Professional Woman, who named her VIP Woman of the Year in 2014 and 2015.
Throughout her career, Ms. Ward has been active in her community, having served as the U.S. Regional Director of Africa Nomads Conservation, and she was named honorary president of the World Peace Forest of Africa. In recognition of her contributions, she was named a Top Professional in Language Arts by the International Association of Top Professionals in 2017, and Cabell Records named her Teacher of the Month in 1989. In her free time, Ms. Ward enjoys photography, traveling, reading, exercising, shopping, dancing and music.
