James G. Sullivan, Owner of Jerry’s Barber Shop, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in business management.
Amassing more than 60 years of professional experience, Mr. Sullivan has been the owner of Jerry’s Barber Shop since 1963. While holding this role, he has been employed in a number of capacities throughout his career, most recently as a senior member of GNLD International from 2013 to 2015. Additionally, he was a senior member of MoneySports.com Investor Relations in 2014, a regional manager at Primerica Financial Services from 1985 to 1998 and in 2010, an elected member of the executive committee of the Veterans Club with the National Rural Letter Carriers’ Association in 2009, and a rural letter carrier with the U.S. Postal Service from 1982 to 1998. An independent water distributor for much of the latter half of his career, he also served as a purchasing agent with Thumb Electrical Cooperative and Walbro Corporation between 1966 and 1980.
Mr. Sullivan has also been a member of the Michigan chapter of the National Rural Letter Carriers Association in 2015 and an elected president of the Armed Forces Veterans Club in 2011, where he also previously served as assistant national secretary and treasurer. A notary public in the state of Michigan in 1968, he also worked for such water distribution companies as Alka Viva, ASEA, Enagic USA, Inc., and Alkaline Antioxidant Ionized Multi-Clustered Water. Furthermore, he served as president of the Huron County Township Association from 1988 to 1990 and was a leader of the Boy Scouts of America in Bad Axe, MI, from 1975 to 1977. He also lent his time as a Eucharistic minister and lector in the Sacred Heart Church.
To prepare for his illustrious career, Mr. Sullivan completed coursework at several universities, including Central Michigan University, the University of Detroit Mercy, and Highland Park College. Serving in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956, he maintains affiliation with several organizations, including as president of the Tip of the Thumb Dance Club since 2005 and the Bad Axe Lions Club with Lions Club International in 1979, 1980, 2006, 2007, 2009, and 2010. The former president of the Community Club from 1976 to 1977 and 4-H Club from 1948 to 1950, he is also associated with the American Legion and the Knights of Columbus.
In recognition of his exceptional achievements in business management, Mr. Sullivan was featured in National Profile Plus magazine in 2017. Notably, he has been highlighted in several editions of Who’s Who in Finance and Business, Who’s Who in Finance and Industry, Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in the Midwest and Who’s Who in the World. In his spare time, he enjoys gardening, golfing, swimming and fishing.
