Prior to these appointments, he served as vice president of Gruntal & Company for 11 years, president of Planning Service Corporation for two years, vice president of financial planning for Dean Witter for seven years, and vice president for E.F. Hutton Company for seven years. He commenced his career as the executive vice president of Textron, Inc., for three years.
Alongside his primary endeavors, Mr. Maxwell has participated in a number of civic engagements, including as a member of the board of directors of the Wellness Institute in Boston, MA, from 1990 to 1991. In addition, he participated with the Arlington Newsletter and was on the advisory board of the Arlington Library Foundation for a brief period of time. In an effort to remain abreast of recent developments within his industry, Mr. Maxwell maintains affiliation with several professional organizations, including the National Association of Securities Dealers, the World Affairs Council, the Institute of Management Consultants, and the American Marketing Association. On a local level, he is involved in the Boston Chamber of Commerce and Rotary International in Boston, MA, and Portland, ME.
Mr. Maxwell has contributed myriad articles to professional journals and has further been the author of several handbooks and booklets within his area of expertise. In recognition of his outstanding contributions to management, he was the recipient of the Bronze Award from the National Academy of Sciences in 1962.
