Peer Munkholt, investment director at the Investment Fund for Developing Countries, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in business leadership.
With more than 35 years of professional experience, Mr. Munkholt has been the investment director of the Investment Fund for Developing Countries since 2014, having been senior investment manager since 1997. Prior to obtaining these roles, he was the deputy director of the International Textile Manufacturers Federation from 1991 to 1997, previously serving as an economist with the firm from 1984 to 1991. Earlier in his career, Mr. Munkholt was a research fellow at the International Institute for Strategic Studies from 1982 to 1984, and an economist with the Danish Employers Confederation from 1981 to 1982.
Mr. Munkholt began his career as a student at the University of Copenhagen, earning a Master of Economics in 1981. In 1982, NATO named him a science fellow. Fluent in Russian, he found himself with a unique opportunity when the USSR dissolved in 1991, being among an elite few with the linguistic skills and economics background to help foster economic development in Russia. The highlight of Mr. Munkholt’s career was giving a presentation at a symposium in Moscow in Russian, accurately predicting an economic collapse in the country by the end of the 1990s.
