An accomplished individual in the field of management, Mr. Lauro has amassed nearly three decades of professional experience in his industry. Serving as the director of contracting and strategic sourcing at the Great Lakes Acquisition Center for the Veterans Administration Integrated Services Network since 2017, he formerly held numerous roles within the U.S. Department of Defense for 28 years, including division chief, senior procurement analyst, supply chain manager and general manager. Prior to these appointments, he served on active duty with the United States Army beginning in 1989 and was designated a member of the Corps of Army Engineers before retiring from active duty in 2009. His assignments during that period included the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, NC, and Engineer Officer assignments with the 82nd Engineer Battalion in Germany, the 46th Engineer Battalion, Heavy Construction in Fort Polk, LA, and Civil Facilities/Force Protection Management Officer in Saudi Arabia.

Mr. Lauro commenced his career as a student at Rockford University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in economics in 1985. After obtaining hands-on experience in the field, he returned to his education at the University of Notre Dame, where he received a Master of Business Administration in finance in 2005. He has been certified in several capacities, including in contracting, program management, commercial contracts management, federal contracts management and purchasing management, among others.

In recognition of his exceptional contributions to the military, Mr. Lauro has accrued numerous accolades throughout his career, including a Bronze Star, six Meritorious Service Army Commendations, two Army Achievements, and 15 Service and Campaign Medals. He also received the Combat Infantry Badge and the Steven D. Mantia Leadership Award. Looking toward the future, Mr. Lauro hopes to move into the private sector and become a COO of a company
