Ms. Wood’s love of horses dawned at an early age, and after having her third daughter, she decided to commit full time to being a mother and working on her new dream. This dream eventually manifested in Graywood Stables, a venture she began to change the care standards of the industry in terms of breeding and other methodologies. As a leader, Ms. Wood has been able to enact a positive change within the community. In addition to running and overseeing the stables, Ms. Wood is a writer and artist. She has penned several novels and is a sculptress, oil and watercolor painter. Her work often depicts animals in motherhood.
Guided by her tenacity, Ms. Wood has put it many hours of hard work and believes her success is due to her commitment to providing a positive life for humans and for all of God’s creations. She earned a JD from New York University and is also a Certified Horse Therapist. Ms. Wood grew up around horses and was trained to ride by a former Olympic competitor. This experience later impacted her career pursuits. While churning up the idea of the state-of-the-art horse facility, Ms. Wood was also the president of the American Morgan Horse Association.
In all of her endeavors, Ms. Wood hopes that her peers remember her for her kindness, reliability and kinship. She has authored such works as “Circles” and “A Clear Destiny, Callie McFarlane.” In recognition of her work, Ms. Wood has received a Woman of the Year award. She has also been involved with Tiffany Circle and the American Red Cross. She has been a horse therapist for more than 30 years and endeavors to continue changing lives through this work.
