Paul R. Alter, Real Estate Consulting, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in real estate.

Even though Mr. Alter has had a lot of success in business, he hasn’t forgotten how to care about people. His approach to real estate is both compassionate and astute, and he quickly became a highly sought-after member of the field. Over the years, he garnered experience in roles like co-head of the Real Estate Division of Jones Day, founder of the Real Estate Department of Kronish Leve, first managing shareholder and founder of the New York Office and Real Estate Department of Greenberg Traurig, LLP, and of counsel of Greenberg Traurig, LLP. Now, he lends his knowledge to his peers as a consultant. His responsibilities include analyzing transactions and participating in property discussions.

One of the highlights of Mr. Alter’s career was representing the purchases of the most expensive property sold in New York at the time, an office building on Park Avenue. Another highlight was representing the entire Lincoln Towers community in the largest co-op conversion in the history of New York. The project consisted of 12,000 people living in 4,000 apartments. Mr. Alter prepared for his endeavors by earning a Bachelor of Arts from Columbia University in 1962 and a JD from Cornell University in 1965. That same year, he became admitted to practice in the state of New York. His initial goal was to pursue transitional law, but when an opportunity arose at a real estate boutique law firm, he jumped at it and found he really enjoyed it. He has been in the field ever since.

When Mr. Alter isn’t working, he enjoys basketball and music. In the past, he has also served in civic roles like chairman of the Young Leadership Federation, president of the New York Association for New Americans, and chair of the United Jewish Appeal Federation.
