Joseph F. Kerner, Jr., Owner at TaxNow, LLC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in financial services.
Realizing that he had the knowledge to help a lot of people, Mr. Kerner decided to open TaxNow, LLC, in 2005. He handles both tax preparation and issues with taxing authorities like the IRS. He is always willing to go the extra mile for his clients, and is proud to have recovered hundreds of thousands of dollars. Mr. Kerner is currently dealing with an appeal to the Congress and the IRS on a huge problem for a tax preparer. This has been ongoing for three years now, and he is eagerly anticipating a positive outcome for the taxpayer. Mr. Kerner attributes his success thus far to his persistence, honesty, and integrity. He also credits his mentors, who taught him to get up when he gets knocked down, and his education. Mr. Kerner earned a Bachelor of Arts from Miami University in 1961, completed postgraduate studies at Case Western Reserve University between 1963 and 1968, became an enrolled agent and certified in federal taxation through the American Society of Public Accountants, and became certified in federal taxation and data education through the American Society of Pension Actuaries.
Previously, Mr. Kerner garnered experience as a marketing advisor for TAASI, the vice present of marketing for Environmental Energy Alternate Fuel, the marketing director of WMA Securities, the regional vice president of Primerica Financial Services, and vice president of the First National Bank of Commerce. He has also served as an instructor of accounting at Bliss College, the director of compensation and benefits at ChemLawn, the manager of compensation and benefits at Rubbermaid, the manager of compensation at L.B. Foster, the manager of benefits at Central Net Bank, and the director of business technology at Marion Technical College. Mr. Kerner shared the knowledge he accrued through the books, “Pension Actuary: My Vision,” and “National Underwriter: Agent Exposes Himself.” To further keep in touch with his peers, he became a member of the governmental affairs committee of the American Society of Pension Actuaries in 1993 and the education coordinator of the American Society of Pension Actuaries in 1990. Other notable engagements include company advisor to Ohio Business Week, adjunct professor at the College of Financial Planning, member of the board of directors of Environmental Energy, Inc., and a national representative of Glee Club.
