Bernard Upshur, President of InfoBid Corporation, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in programming and administration.
Dr. Upshur has lead an extraordinary career in the fields of education and business and has utilized his knowledge of both to launch and manage his company, the Infobid Corporation, since 1984. Infobid offers premium services in competitive bid buying, fixed asset management, inventory control and book purchasing. The trajectory of his career did not always point to this kind of work as he first started out in art education, first earning a Bachelor of Science in applied art from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore in 1960 and a Master of Arts in art education from Hunter College in 1967. As he progressed in this career, his interests shifted to administration policy and leadership. Not long after, Dr. Upshur went in to teaching and directing programs on psychometrics, treasury services and quantitative decision making.
Dr. Upshur earned a PD in urban studies from Fordham University in 1976 and a PhD in administration policy from the institution in 1979. That same year, he received an MBA in finance from Columbia Business School. In his career, Dr. Upshur became certified by the State of New York as a school district administrator and supervisor. He is also a Microsoft Certified Professional with the Infobid Corporation being a Gold Certified Partner. Dr. Upshur spent many years as an assistant superintendent at New York City public schools, and has also taught quantitative decision making at Fordham University as an assistant professor. He has also been a lecturer in advanced statistics for the GE Astrospace and Fort Monmouth for Naval Officers with the Monmouth School of Business. His background was tapped as a Director for the State of New Jersey’s Urban Research and Development Institute.
In recognition of his work, Dr. Upshur has been recognized as a Rockefeller Fellow with Fordham University, as a National Teaching Fellow with the University of Maryland and a fellow of the South East Asia Program to India with the United States State Department. He has received additional awards from the Maxwell School for International Affairs with Syracuse University and has been the recipient of a research grant in psychology from the National Institute of Education. Dr. Upshur has received a Black Artist on Award and has additional recognition with Strathmore’s Who’s Who Worldwide Honors for Leadership in Profession.
