Boyd Post, Retired Forester, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the field of agricultural preservation and studies.

Motivated by a love for the planet and its natural wonder, Dr. Post has dedicated his career to forestry. Always excelling in the subject of botany, Dr. Post pursued this interest, earning a Bachelor of Science in botany from Ohio University in 1950, a Master of Science in forestry in 1958 and a Doctor of Forestry in 1962, both from Duke University. Dr. Post has worked for the US Department of Agriculture for over two decades in various capacities, serving as a forest biologist, program coordinator, assistant department administrator, firefighting laborer for the forest service and soil conservationist trainee. Additionally, Dr. Post has been a professor and forester for the University of Vermont in Burlington, which he considers a highlight of his career. Dr. Post served as an assistant ranger for the Ohio Division of Forestry, a weather observer for the US Weather Bureau and a personnel officer and weather observer for the US Air Force. Furthermore, Dr. Boyd has been the group leader for the national resources committee of the US Department of Agriculture Sciences and Education Administration as well as the assistant director for the Hawaii Institute of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources in Honolulu.

A determined man who perseveres amid all adversity, Dr. Post possesses an eagerness to succeed. He has made essential contributions to the field of forestry, serving on the editorial board of the International Journal of Forest Ecology and Management as well as writing numerous articles for professional journals. Recognized for his success, he has been inducted as a member of several organizations including the Mount Vernon Chapter of the Barbershop Society of America, the Society of American Foresters and the Masonic Grand Lodge of Ohio. He has been a former member of the International Union of Forestry Research Organizations, the International Society for Tropical Foresters and Sigma Xi. Moreover, Dr. Post has been a former fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, has done charity work for the Alzheimer Association and the United Church of Christ. He has offered his time and talents to the Virginia Continuing Care Retirement Association, the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation and scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts America. Dr. Post held membership with the Virginia Chapter of the American Chestnut Foundation and has been inducted into the Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame as a member of the Corning High School Class of 1946. Recognized for his success, Dr. Post has been awarded The Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award and has been featured in multiple editions of Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who in the East.
