William Douglas Hooper, Retired Diversified Financial Services Company Executive, Photographer, Digital Imaging Artist, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in advanced development and financial services.

Mr. Hooper was originally interested in engineering due to his use of HAM radios as a teenager. This early passion bled into his academic pursuits. He graduated from St. Paul’s School, Garden City, NY and then earned a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in engineering from Columbia University. He also earned an MBA from the institution in 1974. After graduating, he worked for Anderson Consulting before joining American Airlines to work on the development of their business class service. When American decided to relocate to Dallas, he remained in New York and went to work for Citigroup, bringing his expertise to apply in advanced development. He helped develop their global retail electronic funds transfer network (ATMS, POS, TRANSFERS) and managed the global account for the system in 48 countries. He holds a patent in the field and was inducted into the Alumni Hall of Fame of Theta Tau National Professional Engineering Fraternity.  After retiring from Citigroup, he served as the CFO and COO of world-class jewelry designer Diana Vincent Inc. from 2006 to 2010. In 2014, he completed the 3-year Art and Aesthetics program at the Barnes Foundation in Philadelphia. Today, he is a venture leader with initiatives in art, technology and business.

Mr. Hooper is also a micro-philanthropist focused on K-12 art and STEAM education. He has been delighted to be involved with many philanthropic endeavors throughout the years. He has been a board member of Plant-a-Seed Inspire a Dream Foundation, the Heritage Dance Foundation, and the Salter Path Museum.

Furthermore, his interest in photography has branched into gallery shows, and his photo graced the cover of the Franklin Institute of Science Museum’s Visitor’s guide in 2006. He is a member of the American Society of Media Photographers, and the Royal Photographic Society. Mr. Hooper also uses his skills to mentor students in Columbia University’s Entrepreneurship program.
