With more than 50 years of professional experience, Mr. Mackey is a celebrated and respected business professional who has been serving as the director of finance and administration at Advanced Adhesive Systems, Inc., since 2018, having formerly served the company as the director of finance from 2014 to 2017 and manager of administration from 2004 to 2014. Prior to these appointments, he held many prominent roles, including as a financial advisor in the financial services industry from 2002 to 2004, as an adjunct professor in the School of Engineering, Science and Technology at Central Connecticut State University from 2001 to 2002, as president of Axiom Laboratories, Inc., from 1998 to 2001, and as president of Signum Microsystems, Inc., from 1991 to 1997. In addition, he also held the role of senior consultant with Coopers & Lybrand LLP from 1988 to 1991 and served in numerous capacities for the Henkel Corporation, including as manager of corporate productivity improvement, manager of the operations and systems divisions, and manufacturing controller of the Americas Group.

Previously, Mr. Mackey served as the special projects engineer for the Fafnir Bearings Division of Textron, Inc., from 1974 to 1976 and as a financial analyst for Tucker Anthony & R.L. Day from 1972 to 1974. He commenced his career with Rolls-Royce Limited in Glasgow, Scotland, holding the role of manufacturing engineer in the Aero Engine Division from 1969 to 1970 and engineering student apprentice in the Aero Engine Division from 1964 to 1965. Alongside his primary endeavors, he served on the board of directors of Axiom Laboratories, Inc., from 1998 to 2002 and was the non-executive chairman for the Association for Promoting Education and Conservation in Amazonia, Inc., from 1997 to 2002. Likewise, he was the chapter chair of Hartford Chapter 7 of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers from 1996 to 1997 and on the board of directors for Signum Microsystems, Inc., from 1983 to 1997.

Civically, Mr. Mackey has been involved with the Harvard Business School Club of Connecticut since 2017 and has been a chartered organization representative of the Boy Scouts of America Troop 12 since 2016. A volunteer member of the classical music staff of WWUH 91.3 FM in West Hartford, CT, since 2002, he previously served as the reading committee chair of Simsbury Light Opera Company from 2014 to 2015, on the board of directors of the West Hartford Taxpayers Association from 1995 to 1996, and on the board of directors of the World Affairs Council of Connecticut from 1992 to 1998. He was additionally the chief of staff for the City of New Haven Blue Ribbon Commission in 1990 and the vice chairman of the Connecticut committee for the Newcomen Society of the United States from 1980 to 1998.

To prepare for his illustrious career, Mr. Mackey pursued formal education at the Imperial College London, earning a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering. He continued his studies at the college in 1970, receiving a Master of Science in engineering. After immigrating to the United States, he received a Master of Business Administration from Harvard University in 1972. He maintains affiliation with the Imperial College London in Boston, the President’s College University of Hartford, American Mensa Ltd., the Masons, and St. Andrews Society of Connecticut.

As a testament to his professional success, Mr. Mackey has accrued several accolades throughout his impressive career. DeMolay International presented him with the Legion of Honor in 2016 and the Knights Templar named him a Knight Commander of the Temple in 2015. Commissioned as a Kentucky Colonel in 2002, the Society of Manufacturing Engineers gave him a President’s Award in 1992 and 1998. He has also received numerous scholarships throughout his vocation. Notably, he has been highlighted in several editions of Who’s Who in Finance and Industry, Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in the East, and Who’s Who in the World.
