C. George Gruner, Financial Planner, Portfolio Manager and Consultant, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in investment advising and insurance.
Mr. Gruner was inspired by his brother, a successful businessman who operated under the sense of good conversation. With his influence, Mr. Gruner entered the life insurance business on October 9, 1967 and has since dedicated more than five decades in the field. The call to help others while experiencing an unlimited opportunity to earn has been a reward in itself, but Mr. Gruner cites some of the career accomplishments he is most proud of is being the number one agent in his region with New York Life, having a 98 percent persistency rate for many years and being included in several editions of Who’s Who in Finance and Industry.
Early in his career, Mr. Gruner worked as an underwriter for New York Life Insurance, providing these services for the company from 1967 to 1973. In 1973, he became a registered representative and served as a manager until 1980. In 1980, he continued his work at New York Life but transitioned to a field underwriter. Continuously dedicated to his work, he became the principal of Gruner, Niblock in 1995, where he still serves as a financial planner, portfolio manager and consultant. He is both a registered representative and investment advisor and has used these certifications, along with his wealth of experience to aid clients in their insurance needs.
On top of these endeavors, Mr. Gruner has been involved with a number of professional organizations that have resulted in growth. He served as a member of the National Association of Life Underwriters with the Million Dollar Round Table from 1995 to 2001, and was among the top 4% of New York Life Sales Representatives in the United States. He has also maintained affiliation with the International Association of Financial Planners, Rotary International, the Masons and Elks. In addition to his brother Charles mentoring him to go into the field, Mr. Gruner was inspired by James Bessceney, who originally hired him in 1964. Mr. Bessceney later became the corporate vice president of New York Life.
