Salvatore Paul Magnano, Retired Financial Company Executive at Sanders, A Lockheed Company, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in financial administration.
Backed by more than five decades of professional experience, Mr. Magnano was the prominent vice president and chief financial officer of Sanders, A Lockheed Company, from 1986 until his retirement from the industry in 1996. Now known as BAE Systems Electronics & Integrated Solutions following its merge with Lockheed Martin Aerospace Electronic Systems, Sanders was formerly known by its predecessor name, Sanders Associates, Inc., from 1951 to 1986, when it was subsequently possessed by Lockheed Corporation. Mr. Magnano began working with Sanders Associates, Inc., in 1969, holding the position of division controller until 1973. For two years, he briefly served as the vice president and controller of Teledyne Mec in Palo Alto, CA, before returning to Sanders as a division controller until 1979. From there, he escalated to become a group controller and group vice president until the company’s acquisition in 1986. Although Mr. Magnano has retired from Sanders, he has continued to work as an independent financial and administrative consultant since 1996.
To prepare for his career, Mr. Magnano pursued formal education at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY, earning a Bachelor of Science in metallurgic engineering in 1955. He subsequently received a Master of Business Administration from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in 1959. A member of Beta Gamma Sigma, who honored him with the Award for Excellence in 1959, Mr. Magnano also served as a lieutenant with the United States Navy during his academic pursuits.
Now retired, Mr. Magnano has dedicated a significant portion of his life to community endeavors, having been on the board of directors of the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Nashua since 1981. Likewise, he has been a trustee and co-founder of the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Nashua Charitable Foundation since 1991 and on the board of trustees of the New Hampshire Prostate Cancer Coalition since 2006. Previously, he was a trustee of Daniel Webster College from 1993 to 2008, reaching emeritus status at that time, and the Congregational Church of Hollis from 2002 to 2008. In recognition of his exceptional contributions to his fields of interest, Mr. Magnano was inducted as a lifetime member of the Financial Executives Institute.
