Norman M. Hinerfeld, Chairman, CEO of The Delta Group, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in manufacturing.
Through hard work, a robust education and decades of experience, Mr. Hinerfeld has cultivated a successful career. Interested in the way things work at an early age, he first attended Harvard University and graduated with an AB in 1951. He continued his academic pursuits at the institution and received an MBA in 1953. Not long after graduating, he honorably served in the US Army as a First Lieutenant from 1954 to 1955. In addition to his career in the manufacturing industry, he is a co-author of “Automation-Challenge to Management,” and is also a patentee of self-programmed automatic machinery.
Mr. Hinerfeld has been the CEO and Chairman of The Delta Group since 1993. He has also provided his services as a consultant for non-profit organizations since 2004. Since 1988, he has been the Chairman of Pandora Industries, Inc. He started his career as a security underwriting in the underwriting department of Goldman Sachs & Co. In the later 1950s, he moved into the roles of assistant to president and vice president of manufacturing at Catalina, Inc. and also Julius Kayser & Co. In 1958, he came on board of Kayser-Roth Corp. From 1964 to 1974, he served as the vice president and executive vice president of Kayser-Roth Corp. In 1975, he became the chairman of the executive committee at the organization. From 1985 to 1988, he continued to supply his leadership services as the chairman and CEO of Winspread Corp. In 1985, he also joined as chairman of Tica Industries, Inc., a role which he held until 2003.
Furthermore, Mr. Hinerfeld has been involved with a number of civic engagements. These include his service as chairman of the International Policy Committee of the United States Chamber of Commerce and Chairman of the American Arbitration Association. He has also been involved with various committees and boards with the New York University School of Business, the Animal Medical Center and the Harvard Business Community Partners. In addition, Mr. Hinerfeld has maintained professional affiliation with the American Apparel Manufacturers Association, the International Apparel Federation, the National Knitted Sportswear Association and the United States Chamber of Commerce.
