Byron Keith Veasey, Quality Assurance Manager at E*Trade Financial, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in data management.
Following his service in the US Air Force, Mr. Veasey found interest in computer integrated manufacturing. His interest in this field focused on how data was stored and managed. With this interest, he pursued a career that has lead to working in data management, data administration, data modeling, data architecture, and database quality assurance. In order to aid these roles and his vast set of skills, Mr. Veasey became a PMI Professional in Business Analysis. He became a Certified Scrum Master and PMI Agile Certified Professional to help improve the quality of the database development process.
Mr. Veasey served in the US Air Force as a civil engineering officer from 1979 to 1983. For his service, he was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal by the US Air Force. Following his service, he became a member of the American Legion. In 1979, he earned a Bachelor of Science in industrial and systems engineering from the University of Southern California. He later received an MBA from Ball State University in 1982 and a Master of Management in management information systems from the University of Dallas in 1989. Although he was originally trained in industrial engineering, he became drawn to database technologies and set out in his pursuits to work in the field.
Prior to joining E*trade in 2011, Mr. Veasey served as a database administrator and data architect for Georgia DHS, and has held similar positions with Ameriquest Mortgage Company, the University of Illinois, Advance PCS, Arthur Andersen, KPMG and the DMR Consulting Group. Earlier in his career, he garnered experience as a solutions manager with AT&T Solutions, as a senior consultant with CSC Consulting and Deloitte & Touche. From 1987 to 1989, he was a business system analyst with E-Systems and a computer integrated manufacturing engineer with Pantex Plant from 1983 to 1987. In 1993, Mr. Veasey was recognized as one of the 40 Under 40 by the Dallas Business Journal. He is also a member of the Project Management Institute.
