Dedicated to public health and ensuring people have access to medicine, Dr. Staples has dedicated his career to researching and developing pharmaceutical drugs. He has served as the principal and CMC consultant for Cusp Pharmatech Consulting, LLC, since 2007 and previously worked as the vice president of research and development for MicroCHIPS, Inc. In preparation for his influential career, he matriculated at the University of Kansas where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in chemistry and biochemistry with honors, a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Doctor of Philosophy in biochemistry. Additionally, Dr. Staples earned a Master of Business Administration from Northeastern University that has afforded him the ability to perform administrative functions in addition to his scientific expertise.

Dr. Staples holds patents for numerous inventions that have been invaluable to those in need.
The inventions include a multi-reservoir pump device for dialysis, stable liquid interferon formulations and minimally invasive medical implant devices for controlled drug delivery.  Dr. Staples has also conceptualized a passive wear-indicating sensor for implantable prosthetics as well as a multi-reservoir device for transdermal drug delivery and sensing, among other helpful patents.

Never one to withhold his extraordinary talents, Dr. Staples has dedicated his time and talents as the chair of the BIOTEC section of leadership with the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists in 2006. He has also been the New England Chapter leadership president of the Parenteral Drug Association from 2003 to 2004 and has held other volunteer positions with both organizations. Bettering any organization with which he has been affiliated, Dr. Staples holds active membership with the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists, the American Chemical Society, the Parenteral Drug Association, the Photographic Society of America and the Boston Camera Club.

Dr. Staples has improved the lives of many with his medical acumen and his dedication to helping others. He earned the Chapter Volunteer Award from the Parenteral Drug Association in 2007 for his outstanding dedication to health care and has contributed multiple articles to professional journals so that others may learn from his expertise. Dr. Staples has been lauded with the coveted The Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award and has been featured in multiple editions of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in Science and Engineering and Who’s Who in the East.
