Utilizing nearly 70 years of experience, Ms. Ingrao is an accomplished clothing manufacturing company executive who has been serving as the vice president, secretary and treasurer at Ingrao, Inc., since 1981, having also been the president of D’Angelo Couture, Inc., from 1981 to 2014. Prior to these illustrious roles, she held the role of president of D’Angelo Originals Ltd. in New York City from 1978 to 1981, as well as administrator of D’Angelo Suits and Coats, also in New York City, from 1975 to 1977. Commencing her career as an accountant with Smith, Ranscht, Mitchell and Croake in White Plains, NY, in 1950, she also acted as a substitute teacher for Pelham Schools for seven years.
Alongside her primary endeavors, Ms. Ingrao was the former vice president of the Heights Women’s Club in Eastchester, NY, for five years in the 1950s, as well as a solicitor for various organizations, such as the American Red Cross, Community Chest and Catholic Charities. She was also the publicity chairman of St. Catharine’s Mothers Society. Civically, she has maintained involvement with the Mother Societies of Iona Prep Holy Child School and Good Counsel Academy for 16 years and was the secretary-treasurer for the Chester Heights Ladies Civic Organization. A representative and trustee of St. Catharine’s Church in Pelham, NY, she also volunteered for the March of Dimes annual fundraiser.
Ms. Ingrao holds a Bachelor of Science in commerce, with honors, from the College of Mount St. Vincent and a Master of Education from New York University. She is a certified elementary education teacher. Featured in “Get It Made New York” and “Unsung Fashion Heroes,” she has remained alert of industry changes by maintaining affiliation with numerous professional organizations. A fund agent of the College of Mount St. Vincent Alumnae Association, she additionally remains associated with the American Association of Cloak and Suit Manufacturers, the National Organization of Italian-American Women, and the Columbiettes.
Featured in the 15th edition of Who’s Who of American Women, Ms. Ingrao enjoys cooking, sewing, traveling, playing golf and attending the opera in her spare time. Married to the late Joseph A. Ingrao, she cites her marriage as the highlight of her life. She is the proud mother of three children, seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
