Drawing upon more than four decades of experience, Mr. St. John is an illustrated utilities executive whose expertise involves electrical engineering and management; water, electricity and waste water treatment; and natural gas, cable television and appliance repair. Most recently serving as the secretary-treasurer and general manager of Riviera Utilities in Foley, AL, from 1972 to 2002, he previously held the role of assistant chief engineer at the company from 1966 to 1971. Commencing his career as an engineering aide with the Alabama Power Company in Enterprise, AL, from 1960 to 1962, he subsequently served in the same capacity for the company in their Birmingham, AL, location from 1962 to 1966.

Mr. St. John completed coursework at David Lipscomb College, the University of Tennessee, and the University of Alabama. He attributes his success to his affiliation with numerous workers and mentors who have bolstered his leadership in a positive fashion, implementing a progressive and suitable work environment for all involved. Although retired, he continues to participate in a number of civic endeavors, including as an elder, vice chairman, and board member of the Foley Church of Christ since the 1980s. Likewise, he has been the treasurer of the Christian Care Center, Inc., since 1981, as well as an ambassador of the South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce since 2002.

As a testament to his success, Mr. St. John has accrued numerous accolades throughout his career. Most recently acting as the recipient of the President Award from the Alabama Municipal Electric Authority in 2012, he also previously received the Heritage Award from Electric Cities Alabama in 2005 and the Kramer-Preston Public Service Award from the American Public Power Association in 2002. Earlier in his career, he was named Outstanding Young Man of the Year by the City of Foley, AL, in 1973. Notably, he was selected for inclusion in several editions of Who’s Who in Finance and Business, Who’s Who in Finance and Industry, Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in Science and Engineering, Who’s Who in the South and Southwest, and Who’s Who in the World.
