Raymond Decker, PhD, Chief Technology Officer at Thixomat/nanoMAG, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in engineering.
Dr. Raymond Decker is an engineering executive with more than 50 years of professional experience and success in the industry. Currently, Dr. Decker holds the title of Chief Technology Officer at Thixomat/nanoMAG, and in the past has co-founded companies such as Thixomat, Inc., and USP. Throughout his career, he has made invaluable contributions to the development of next-generation nanomaterials for biomedical applications, and he holds fifteen patents on materials and processes with a focus on alloy design. He is the co-inventor of maraging steels and the Thixomolding machine, and has developed a high-strength Mg sheet, as well as bioabsorbable Mg alloys.
Dr. Decker developed an interest in science and engineering as a young man. He received his education from the University of Michigan, where he completed a Bachelor of Science in 1952, a Master of Science in 1955, and PhD in 1958. After completing his doctorate, he began working with Inco Ltd. He was there until 1982, and he served as Vice President in his time there. He would go on to serve as an innovator and executive at several other key companies in the field, and currently he holds the title of CTO with Thixomat/nanoMAG.
He has served on the Board of Directors of many different organizations, including the Michigan Energy and Resource Research Association and the Welding Research Council. He is a long-time keynote Speaker for Superalloys NAE, a fellow of American Society Metals International, and he has written a number of publications in the field. Dr. Decker has been featured in numerous editions of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in Science and Engineering, and Who’s Who in the World.
