Ernest Knesel, Chief Executive Officer, Co-Founder of Select Laboratory Partners, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in science and technology.

A renowned health facility administrator and chemical executive, Mr. Knesel is currently the chief executive officer and chairman of Select Laboratory Partners, which he co-founded in 2003. He began his career as a technologist at the American Biological Control Laboratory and a senior technologist at Englewood Hospital. In 1969, Mr. Knesel founded Biomedical Reference Laboratories, Inc. He served as senior vice president of this company as well as its successor, Roche Biomedical Laboratories, Inc., through 1995. During this time, he also founded and was president of Roche Image Analysis Systems, a subsidiary of Roche Biomedical Laboratories, and successfully established this company as a leader in automated cytodiagnostics. Mr. Knesel created and served as the first president of Roche Image Analysis Systems’ successor company, AutoCyte, Inc. In 2001, Mr. Knesel founded Select Diagnostics, Inc., and served as its president until 2011. In addition to opening Select Laboratory Partners during this period, he also became the founder of Select Laboratories-South Carolina and CellSolutions LLC.

Before embarking on his prodigious professional career, Mr. Knesel studied at the St. John Vianny Seminary and Armstrong College. He received a Bachelor of Science in biology and Master of Science in biochemistry from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Mr. Knesel is also a certified clinical chemist.

Mr. Knesel has been responsible for several important achievements in his field, including the development of a serum and dispenser vial, an automated aliquoting system and an automated thin layer cell preparation. He is a member of the American Association of Clinical Chemistry and an associate of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists. In light of his exceptional undertakings, Mr. Knesel was selected for inclusion in multiple editions of Who’s Who Among Human Services Professionals, Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in the South and Southwest, Who’s Who in the World, Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare, and Who’s Who in Science and Engineering.
