Utilizing more than six decades of industry experience, Dr. Lachman is an esteemed pharmaceutical company executive who has been serving as president of Lachman Consultants in Garden City, NY, since 1979. Prior to this illustrious role, he was the vice president of development and control at DuPont Pharmaceutical in Wilmington, DE, from 1969 to 1979, having formerly served as the executive director of Endo Pharmaceuticals, Inc., in 1968. He commenced his career as the director of pharmacy research and development at CIBA Pharmaceutical Company in Summit, NJ, from 1956 to 1969. Alongside his primary roles, he was the senior vice president of science and technology at United Laboratory in Manila, Philippines, from 1979 to 1981.

To prepare for his career, Dr. Lachman pursued formal education at Columbia University, where he received a Bachelor of Science in pharmacy and Master of Science in industrial pharmacy in 1951 and 1953, respectively. Thereafter, he attended the University of Wisconsin and earned a Doctor of Philosophy in physical pharmacy in 1956. After gaining valuable experience in the field, he was presented with an honorary doctorate from Columbia University in 1976.

A contributor of more than 70 articles to scientific publications, Dr. Lachman has been a frequent guest lecturer at multiple universities and a visiting scientist at the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy. A fellow and former president of the Academy of Pharmaceutical Sciences, he was honored with the Industrial Pharmaceutical Technology Award from the academy in 1970. Nearly a decade later, he received the Research Achievement Award from the American Pharmacists Association in 1979. Dr. Lachman has also been highlighted in the 21st edition of Who’s Who in the East, published in 1986.
