Presentacion Zablan Soberon, retired state bar administrator at The State Bar of California in San Francisco CA, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in management and supervision.

From 1955 to 1977, Ms. Soberon worked in various positions for the US Federal Service with the US Naval Base in Subic Bay, Philippines. These positions included working from clerk-stenographer, secretary to administrative assistant. In recognition of her job performance and outstanding service, she was awarded with the United States Special Emigrant visa in 1977, allowing her and her family to relocate to the United States in California. From 1977 upon arrival in the United States until her retirement in 1998, Ms. Soberon provided her services at the Mount Zion Hospital and Medical Center in San Francisco, at the City and County of Oakland, and at the State Bar of California in San Francisco in 1978. While working for the State Bar of California, she worked in the General Counsel Division, the State Bar Court Division, the Finance and Operations Division, the Professional and Public Services Division at the Sections and Committees Department and was the Department Manager, the State Bar Relations Office and was Appointments and Standing Committees Administrator and finally at the Section Education and Meeting Services in 1986-1998, Ms. Soberon was the Administrator to State Bar Sections managing the Antitrust and Trade Regulation Law, Business Law, Criminal Law, Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law, International Law, Labor and Employment Law and Workers’ Compensation Law. She also served as Proctor at Bar Exams. Ms. Soberon retired in 1998 after 20 years of State Bar service. In addition to her full-time job, while living in the Philippines, Ms. Soberon was a radio broadcaster and DJ for Radio Stations DZYZ, DZOR and DWHL from 1963 to 1977.

In recognition of her work, Ms. Soberon received a number of awards and accolades throughout her career. She was presented with a meritorious award from Chief of Naval Operations, Admiral E. R. Zumwalt, Jr. in 1972. In 1975, she received an Appreciation Award from Commanding Officer, Captain James G. Williams, III of the U.S. Navy in 1975, in recognition of her 22 years of outstanding service with the U.S. Federal Service at U.S. Naval Station in Subic Bay, Philippines.

Furthermore, Ms. Soberon has received awards from the Philippine National Inner Wheel Clubs Convention in 1975 for having the most outstanding community projects and achievements, 13 Superior Accomplishment Awards, Outstanding Performance Award and Monetary Awards from the US Federal Service/US Naval Base in Subic Bay, Philippines. Outside of work, she organized the Neighborhood Alert Program in Pittsburg, and is a lector minister of Our Lady Queen of the World Church in Pittsburg. She is a platinum member and on the board of directors of the Filipino-American Association, Inc. of Pittsburg, California and a member of other civic organizations active in school and community projects. In 2016, Ms. Soberon was privileged and humbled to be interviewed by retired US Navy Officer Dave Thompson of the Palm Springs Air Museum about her life history, World War II experience, post-war experience and her current life in the United States. This interview was video-recorded and the DVD displayed at both the Palm Springs Air Museum Library and the U.S. Congress Library.

On top of all these achievements, Ms. Soberon is most proud of her family. She is the eldest of ten siblings of Pioquinto Yalung Zablan and Lourdes David Zablan and was married to her late husband, Damaso Reyes Soberon, a supervisor working for the City and County of San Francisco in the Transportation Department. With her husband, they had four children: Shirley, who married Michael Spalletta; Sherman, who married Mee Kyung Cho and has a daughter Ellisa; Sidney, who married Rebecca Culberson and has a son, Joseph; and Sedwin (divorced), who has two daughters, Lauren, who married Christopher Szostak, and Kailani, and a son, Justin, who married Jasmine Jimenez and has a son, Jorden.
