Employed with Hickory Springs Manufacturing Company in Hickory, NC, for 50 fruitful years, Ms. Hilton delved into her career due to her people-oriented, compassionate nature. Commencing her career with the company as an accounts receivable clerk in 1966, she subsequently served as a cashier for four years before serving as the secretary and vice president of manufacturing from 1972 to 1979. Thereafter, she acted as a personnel administrator, senior personnel representative, and human resources administrator between 1979 and 1992. From 1992 to 2000, she served the company as a personnel services supervisor, and from 2000 to 2007, she was a human resources service manager before securing her role as corporate human resources manager, a position she held from 2007 until her retirement in 2016.

Studying extensively throughout her career, Ms. Hilton earned a diploma from Catawba Valley Community College in 1966 and returned to the college to complete postgraduate coursework between 1979 and 1989. During this time, she was also a student at Clemson University for one year. In her spare time, she frequently contributed to many civic organizations, having most recently served the Hickory Downtown Development Committee on the design development committee since 2018. In the past, she was involved with Big Brothers/Big Sisters, the March of Dimes, the American Red Cross, and the Flynn Christian Fellowship Houses.

The former president of the Piedmont Personnel Association and American Business Women’s Association, Ms. Hilton has garnered multiple awards throughout her career. Named an Outstanding Young Woman by the Hickory Jaycettes in 1981, she was also a two-time Woman of the Year in 1982 and 1989. In light of her professional excellence, she was featured in Who’s Who in Finance and Business, Who’s Who in Finance and Industry, Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in the South and Southwest, Who’s Who in the World and Who’s Who of Emerging Leaders in America.
