Mr. Moore has been the founder and president of Moore Management LLC since 2008. Prior to this role, he served Regions Financial Corporation as president from 2004 to 2007, chief executive officer from 2005 to 2006, and executive chairman from 2006 to 2007. The former chairman, chief executive officer, president and chief operating officer of Union Planters Corporation between 1989 and 2004, which has since merged with Regions Financial Corporation, he commenced his career as a managing partner at Wildman, Harrold, Allen, Dixon & McDonnell and associate at Martin, Tate, Morrow & Marston beginning in 1973. He considers the highlight of his career to be taking a relatively small $2 billion financial service in the banking industry to a $150 billion organization.
Alongside his primary endeavors, Mr. Moore served on the board of directors of several entities, including Union Planters National Bank, the Mid-South Public Commission Network, the Memphis Development Foundation and PSB Bancshares, known today as River Bank Corporation. The recipient of a Bachelor of Science from the University of Alabama and Doctor of Jurisprudence from Vanderbilt University, Mr. Moore has been admitted to practice law before the United States and Tennessee Supreme Courts. In addition, he is on the board of the President’s Cabinet at the University of Alabama and formerly sat on the board of trustees of Vanderbilt University.
Locally involved as well, Mr. Moore sat on the board of directors of the Boy Scouts of America and Memphis Emmaus Community, served as chairman of the board of the Vanderbilt Law School and his local Methodist church, and acted as a Sunday school teacher. He has additionally maintained affiliation with the Memphis Country Club, the Memphis Hunt and Polo Club, the Ocean Forest Club, the Mountain Brook Country Club and the Sea Island Club.
Looking toward the future, Mr. Moore intends to have his son and son-in-law take over responsibilities for the family office, thus relieving him of his primary responsibilities. He also hopes to be around to see his grandchildren take over the family business because they are the ultimate beneficiaries. Married to Elizabeth Wilson since 1971 with three children and ten grandchildren, he is a native of Birmingham, AL, and enjoys golfing, reading, traveling and coin collecting in his spare time.
