Title: Founder, Chief Executive Officer
Company: The Brittany Foundation
Location: Acton, California, United States

Nancy Katherine Anderson, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of The Brittany Foundation, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the nonprofit industry.

A nonprofit 501(c)(3) charity dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and placement of homeless dogs, The Brittany Foundation was founded in 1991 and has since placed an average of 100 dogs per year into loving homes. Noted for being an admirable no-kill animal shelter and sanctuary, the foundation focuses its efforts on dogs whose stigma precedes them, such as senior dogs, handicapped dogs, and “unpopular” dogs, such as pit bulls. Through education and training, the foundation distributes handy educational materials and hosts frequent discussions regarding the proper care and treatment of dogs.

As founder and chief executive officer of The Brittany Foundation, Ms. Anderson has always been interested in the nonprofit industry, frequently volunteering for animal shelters and rescue facilities from a young age. Prior to founding her own nonprofit organization, she served as a corporate executive for a number of firms, including HealthNet, Inc., Nancy K. Anderson & Associates, COTY, Inc., NAW Career Associates, Anchor Hocking and Anderson Clayton Foods. She commenced her career in 1970 as a trainer and career consultant for the General Accounting Office.

The recipient of a Bachelor of Science in psychology from George Washington University and Master of Public Administration from the University of Colorado, Ms. Anderson has also completed coursework at Cardinal Stritch University. Alongside her primary endeavors, she previously served as secretary-treasurer and on the board of directors of the Prestonwood Green Condo Association, as chair of the women’s advisory board to Comptroller General Elmer B. Staats, and as member of the Equal Employment Opportunity Advisory Council. Furthermore, she has contributed myriad articles to professional journals within her area of expertise.

Affiliated with the International Society of Performance and Instruction and the American Society of Training and Development, Ms. Anderson received an award from the latter organization in 1984 and Certificates of Merit from the General Accounting Office in 1978 and 1979. Likewise, Comptroller General Elmer B. Staats gave her an Equal Employment Opportunity Award in 1977 for her excellence in the field. She was also selected for inclusion in Who’s Who of Emerging Leaders in America, Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in the World, Who’s Who in the South and Southwest, and Who’s Who of American Women.
