Pamela J. Kruse, Ph.D., Retired Co-Owner at Village Bike Shops, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in business management.

In partnership with her husband, Dr. Kruse co-founded Village Bike Shops in 1991, which she continued to co-own until her retirement from the industry in 2018. Always enthusiastic about physical fitness, she enjoys seeing the passion for the sport within her customers, as well as her ability to help them in all of their endeavors. Prior to this appointment, she had an illustrious career in law, serving first as a research assistant at the University of Michigan Law School from 1982 to 1985 and judicial clerk for the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Michigan from 1985 to 1986. Subsequently, she held the role of associate with Clary, Nantz, Wood, Hoffius, Rankin & Cooper from 1986 to 1991. Demonstrating versatility in her profession, she previously served Michigan State University as the assistant director of labor relations, labor relations representative, assistant intramural director and graduate assistant between 1976 and 1982. She commenced her career as an assistant intramural director at Central Michigan University in 1975, holding the position for one year.

Highly educated, Dr. Kruse holds a Bachelor of Science, Master of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy from Michigan State University, as well as a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Michigan. Admitted to practice law in Michigan since 1986, she served as first vice president and board of directors member of the Michigan State University Alumni Association, chair and executive board of directors member of the young lawyers section of the Grand Rapids Bar Association, and chair of the manual revision committee of the Michigan Public Employer Labor Relations Association. In addition, she has maintained affiliation with the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Michigan, Phi Delta Kappa and Kappa Alpha Theta.

Inducted into the Greater Fort Lauderdale Sports Hall of Fame in 1979, Dr. Kruse received a Silver Medal in the 1968 Olympics in Mexico City, as well as Gold and Silver Medals in the 1967 U.S. Pan-American Team in Canada. She is the holder of several world records, including in the 400-meter freestyle swim, 200-meter freestyle swim, and 440-yard freestyle swim. In addition, she was selected for inclusion in Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Law, Who’s Who of American Women, and Who’s Who of Emerging Leaders in America.
