Sandra Shoemaker

Title: Aerospace Executive

Location: Forth Worth, Texas, United States

Sandra Shoemaker, Aerospace Executive, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the aerospace and aviation industries.

Ms. Shoemaker had always been interested in aviation and loved the role that defense contractors play in securing the nation and its allies. In addition, she chose the profession because aerospace is an exciting technology area. After earning a BBA from Baylor University in 1975, she began working as a financial coordinator at Texas Agricultural and Mechanical University. In 1977, she joined General Dynamics Corp., and in the 12 following years changed roles from engineering planner to Manager of Administrative Support. In 1990, she began working for Lockheed Martin, where she spent the next two decades as the director of various programs, departments and systems, including the F-15 Air Vehicle and the Aero Transition Team. In 2015, she became the president of her own firm, Shoemaker & Associates, LLC, providing her decades of knowledge and expertise in this venture.

One of the highlights of Ms. Shoemaker’s career has been when she headed up the team that merged three separate companies who had been competitors with different kinds of processes in financial systems. It was no simple task trying to merge those into a cohesive company with a single set of processes and a single set of management and it was not only a learning experience but something that had an enormous impact on the company and the entire corporation. In recognition of her work, she received the Women in Aerospace Award for Leadership and was recognized with Tarrant County’s Outstanding Women in Business accolade. In her career, she maintained professional affiliation with the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, the National Defense Industry Association, the Project Management Institute, the Defense Acquisition University Alumni Association, the Air Force Association and Women in Aerospace.
