Driven by a desire to serve the public’s wellbeing, Mr. Brill has found success in his career over the last five decades. Today, he excels in his role with Odgers Berndtson, an executive search firm focused on placing senior talent across more than 50 sectors. Mr. Brill focuses his work on the areas of higher education, health care and life sciences. Considered an expert in these disciplines, he draws from his previous experiences in the field. Previously, he co-founded and was managing partner of a boutique search firm where he recruited senior academic and business leaders for leading U.S. universities, academic medical centers, and affiliated organizations. In addition, he founded a health services firm called Commonwealth Care, which was dedicated to improving the care of individuals in Massachusetts. Mr. Brill is regarded among his colleagues and peers as a persistent, hardworking professional. “Once I set a goal, I am very determined to get there,” he says when asked of his work ethic.
Mr. Brill prepared for his career by investing his time in his education. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from Colgate University in 1969 and an MBA from Harvard University in 1974. He came to prominence in his career in early roles, including urban affairs consultant for Arthur D. Little, Inc., assistant commissioner for the Massachusetts Public Health Department, administrator for the Cambridge Center at Harvard University, vice president for Harvard Community Health Plan, and president for Dedicated Dental Services. He also served as the division vice president of Quantum Health Resources, vice president of business development for Olsten Health Services, managing partner of The Bard Group, and president of Brill Neumann.
Mr. Brill’s expertise in his field has afforded him many opportunities to impact his industry in advisory roles. He has been involved with the audit and compliance committee for the Partners Healthcare System, the board of directors for the Health Planning Council of Greater Boston, and the board of trustees for the Boston University Medical Center. In addition, he has worked with the Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital Network in a number of capacities.
In looking ahead to the future, Mr. Brill has no intention of slowing down in his professional pursuits. He is looking forward to taking on new opportunities within his industry while continuing in his tremendous work with Odgers Berndtson.
