Michael Taylor, OSP Project Manager at Metronet Inc., has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in fiber optics.
With more than 20 years of professional experience, Mr. Taylor has been OSP project manager with Metronet Inc., since 2018. In this role, he builds complete fiber to home networks in Central Indiana. On a daily basis, Mr. Taylor carries out these duties while scheduling the work, completing the tasks and ensuring the projects stay on or under budget. Prior to obtaining his current role, he retired in 2016, having been with AT&T since 1996. Earlier in his career, he was a command sergeant major with the US Army from 1974 to 2011 and he served with the US Air Force from 1970 to 1974.
Mr. Taylor began his career as a student at North Central Texas College, where he obtained an associate’s degree in management in 1974. He continued his studies with the Cleveland Institute of Electronics, completing a certificate in electronics technology with lab in 1975. He later earned a bachelor’s degree in general studies and supervision with Indiana University in 1991. Furthermore, he is a certified fiber optics installer.
An active leader in his community, Mr. Taylor has been affiliated with a number of professional organizations. He is a member of the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers and the Electronic Technicians Association. Throughout his career, he has been recognized for his contributions. He was named a Kentucky Colonel by the governor of Kentucky, a Sagamore of the Wabash by the Governor of Indiana, and he has received two Legion of Merits from the US Army. He credits his success to tackling problems with fairness and reason, as well as developing his management skills and being kind to others.
