Title: Manufacturing Executive (Retired)
Location: Wichita, Kansas, United States
James H. Rierson, former manufacturing executive, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executive for dedication, achievements, and leadership in military aviation field management.
Driven by an abundant interest in flying and aircraft, Mr. Rierson found success in his career by aligning his passion for aviation with his demonstrated expert aircraft maintenance skills and safe operating practices. He became involved in his field by enlisting in the aircraft technical training program with the U.S. Air Force in 1959. From there, he held increasingly responsible roles in the field beginning with a position as a change incorporation mechanic for Boeing. Mr. Rierson then found success as an experimental mechanic, field service representative and product service engineer for Beech Aircraft Corp., followed by such prominent roles as technical representative and manager of product services for Learjet Corp. He remained with the company until his retirement in 1995, where he concluded his work as a regional manager for both the military division and the Glasco division.
Throughout his career, Mr. Rierson found it imperative to professionally develop his skill set in order to remain successful. He completed coursework at the Ruthven Consolidate, the Spartan School of Aeronautics, and LaSalle University. He also earned an FAA A/P certificate and an FCC General certificate. He was very involved within industry organizations, including the American Legion, the Air Force Association, the Learjet Society of Management Association and the Experimental Aircraft Association. In reflecting back on a successful career, Mr. Rierson notes that his biggest achievement was the completion and successful management of the USAF C-21A field logistics support program. As he looks to the future, he plans to still be enjoying retirement and supporting the restored B-29 “DOC” Aircraft, an initiative that he has been providing voluntary technical support to since 2000.
