Malcolm McDonald, former director, senior vice president, and trustee of Space Center, Inc., has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in business.
With nearly 45 years of professional experience, Mr. McDonald had been a trustee, director, and senior vice president of Space Center, Inc., from 1977 to 2004. Earlier in his career, he had been vice president of the First National Bank of St. Paul. In addition to his primary roles, has been a board member of the Yale Alumni Association of the Northwest, and a member of the advisory boards of Hill Monastic Manuscript Library at St. John’s University, Firstar Bank of Minnesota, and Sherbrooke Capital.
The former vice chair of the investment advisory council of the Minnesota State Board of Investment, Mr. McDonald served on the boards of director of HMN Finance, Inc. and Scherer Brothers Lumber Company. He taught as an adjunct professor of graduate programs in management at the University of St. Thomas. He holds a Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude, from Yale College and a Master of Business Administration from Harvard University.
A respected voice in his areas of interest, Mr. McDonald has been an active leader in his community. A fellow of Phi Beta Kappa Associates, he has served on the board of governors and the board of directors of the Minneapolis Club. He is a member of the North Oaks Golf Club, North Oaks Homeowners Association, the St. Paul Chamber of Commerce, the Colony Foundation, Phi Gamma Delta, and Phi Beta Kappa. Mr. McDonald is honored to be a member of The Grotto Foundation, founded by Louis W. Hill, Jr. The foundation is community based, focusing on helping families and individuals from diverse communities. What he is interested in is there are things that other people talk about on how the communities are growing in the best possible way as Mr. McDonald is very dedicated to the community.
Mr. McDonald has achieved tremendous success in his career and considers a career highlight to be when he was recognized by the Informal Club in 2019. The recognition was for outstanding service and for all the work he has done in the community since his membership dating back to 1971. Mr. McDonald attributes his success in real estate to be remaining true to himself and believes that the ones who are truly successful are genuine people. As a testament to his success, Mr. McDonald has been featured in numerous editions of Who’s Who in Finance and Business, Who’s Who In Finance and Industry, Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in the Midwest and Who’s Who in the World and has been lauded with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award.
