Paul Wahlstrom, Television Producer, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in media.
Throughout his career, Mr. Wahlstrom was instrumental in building television stations, networks and organizations. He served as the executive producer for the Irving Community TV Network from 1981 until his retirement in 2008. Prior to this position, he gained experience as a production manager for Channel 10 in Danbury, CT. During his years at the Irving Community TV Network, Mr. Wahlstrom received many accolades for his work, and considers the first time he received a Cable Ace Award from the National Academy of Cable Programming in 1983 as one of the highlights of his career. He went on to receive that award again from 1986 to 1998. Furthermore, he received an award from the National Federation of Local Cable Programmers, the Professional Video Award from the JVC Corporation, awards from the National League of Cities, the C.P. Snow Award from the DeVry Institute, as well as recognition from the National Association of Telecommission Officers and Advisors. Furthermore, Mr. Wahlstrom received a National Award and a Katie Award.
Mr. Wahlstrom first set out in his career by studying at the University of Americas in Mexico City in 1968. He then earned a BSBA from the University of Denver in 1969. He entered the television profession because it piqued his interest, and when he started working in it, found that it was a good match. Mr. Wahlstrom has also been involved with the Press Club of Dallas. In this respect, he promotes good journalism practices and protections of the First Amendment. He works with organizations and individuals in the media to uphold shared values and tenets of the industry. He served as the president from 2011 to 2012, and has recently returned to the role in 2018.
