Mr. Rao became involved in his profession due to his ongoing interest in this area, including in education in finance and strategic management. His positions in retail, operations and finance prepared him for leadership positions in finance, along with unique perspectives that he gained from his background. To supplement his career, Mr. Rao earned an MBA from the Schulich School of Business in 2000. When reflecting on his experience, he notes that the factors that have played a role in his accomplishments is his determination, willingness to be flexible and his ability to take on risks with confidence.

Mr. Rao’s personal definition of success is the number of people that he has been able to see grow into successful leaders under his guidance. His wide breadth of knowledge and experience has led him in succeeding in large scale projects, most notably managing the conversion from Canadian accounting standards to the international standard, IFRS, for many financial firms. As he looks ahead to the future, Mr. Rao intends to continue in his tremendous work in his field with the hope and intention of working toward achieving a senior vice president role in the years to come.
