David Drutz, President of Pacific Biopharma Associates, LLC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in internal medicine.
Dr. Drutz was drawn to science at an early age and pursued this interest in his endeavors. He first earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Louisville in 1958 and carried on with his education an the institution to receive an MD in 1962. He was certified through the American Board of Internal Medicine and is a diplomate of the American College of Physicians. While still in academia at the University of Texas Health Science Center, he established the Center for Cell Regulation. This was a big step as he left academia while he was a tenured professor. From there, his name was put on the map to launch, direct and manage other ventures.
In his career, Dr. Drutz has worked in various executive level positions at such organizations as DARA Biosciences, Inc., Pacific Rim Ventures Co., Inspire Pharma Inc., SmithKline & French Laboratories, Sennes Drug Innovations, Inc. and Daiichi Pharmaceutical Corp. As an academic, Dr. Brutz aided in the development of future medical professionals as a professor at the University of California San Francisco, Vanderbilt University and the University of Texas. Dr. Drutz was a National Science Foundation grantee and maintained membership with such organizations at the Infectious Diseases Society of America, the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the Western Society of Clinical Investigation. He was a fellow of the American College of Physicians.
