He has been in real estate since 1985, and has been the vice president of Coldwell Banker Commercial, Scalzo Group since 2002. Prior to that, he worked with Century 21 and William Raveis Commercial Investment Real Estate. Before real estate, he worked in corporate roles with Ethan Allen, Inc., Fairfield Book Co., Reed National Drapery Co. and Sanderson Fabrics, McCaffrey & McCall, Wells, Rich, Greene, Inc., Benton & Bowles and American Brands, Inc.
Mr. Kurfehs started his career at St. Peter’s College, earning a Bachelor of Science. He continued at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania to receive an MBA in 1964, setting himself up early for future leadership roles. For his work in real estate, he has been recognized with such accolades as the Distinction Award, the Costar Broker Award, the Broker of the Year Award and the Listing Agent of the Year award. He has also been recognized as a scholar with the Oaklawn Foundation. Mr. Kurfehs also currently serves as the Chairman of Developed Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy with the Western Connecticut Economic Development Alliance, as a corporator with Fairfield County Bank and a variety of other related positions.
Throughout his career, Mr. Kurfehs has maintained professional affiliation with the Connecticut Association Realtors Commercial Investment Division, the National Rifle Association, the Wharton Club of New York and Pi Sigma Phi. In his line of work, Mr. Kurfehs has had the opportunity to contribute to numerous articles, professional journals and columns in newspapers. Mr. Kurfehs attributes his success to wanting to make a difference in the world and do something important.
