Title: Accounting Manager
Company: Center for Strategic & International Studies
Location: Washington, DC, United States
Karan Grewal, Accounting Manager at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in accounting.
Throughout Mr. Grewel’s career, he has exemplified the values of hard work and tenacity that have led to his career success. When he first began in his field, he was a junior accountant. In the ensuing years, he learned the complexities of the job and now manages a staff of five while running the day-to-day functions and responsibilities. Prior to working at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, he provided his skills and expertise in the field with the Deloitte accounting firm. While at the firm, he had multiple industry clients in financial services and nonprofit. Nonprofits stuck with him because it was unique and it was not one kind of revenue stream. When the opportunity for his current firm opened he made his move there to continue this kind of work.
Mr. Grewel always knew he wanted to do something with business since high school. He took accounting because it seemed like an area that was growing. While matriculating at Virginia Tech, he took an accounting 101 course and was immediately drawn to the profession. Looking toward the future, he endeavors to continue providing his top notch and quality services and growing within the organization. He hopes to take on more executive roles such as becoming the director of finance and accounting and to one day be CFO.
